On Tuesday 20 September, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Outreach team member, Narelle Hennessy and ADNSW Community Engagement Officer, Morlai Kamara, attended the Elder Olympics in Western Sydney.
Narelle and Morlai were on hand to connect with the community and raise awareness about the free, confidential services ADNSW provides. They enjoyed being spectators to the fun events too!
This annual event sees teams of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders (50 years+) come together for a day of friendly competition and celebration of healthy living. Events included the egg and spoon race, relay and tunnel ball.
At the end of the day, participants hit the dancefloor to do the YMCA, Macarena and Nut Bush. The energy and smiling faces said it all.
