The Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW is an independent statutory body.
Chris D'Aeth was appointed acting President in March 2025. He is the Deputy Secretary of the Courts, Tribunals and Service Delivery Division at the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). With extensive experience in legal and administrative roles, Chris oversees the efficient operation of courts and tribunals in NSW, ensuring accessible and effective justice services.
The current board members are:
Joanna Davidson is a barrister at Sixth Floor Selborne Wentworth Chambers who specialises in public law. Previously she served as Counsel Assisting the NSW Solicitor General and Crown Advocate, and was also a director and Co-Chair of the Inner City Legal Centre. She has served on the ADNSW Board since 2020.
Derya Iner is an associate professor and research coordinator at the Centre for Islamic Studies at Charles Sturt University, focusing specifically on Islamophobia within the broader context of religious discrimination, racism and hate crimes in Australia and the West. She has a long track record of building productive and enduring relationships with non-government and government agencies and works closely with Muslim community organisations. She was appointed to the ADNSW Board on 28 February 2024 for three years.
Elena Katrakis is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Carers NSW, the peak body for family and friend carers in the state. She has extensive experience spanning many years in housing, homelessness, health and mental health services since her early career as a social worker. She was appointed to the ADNSW Board on 28 February 2024 for three years.
