ADNSW staff take part in accidental counsellor training

Published 10 February 2023

This week, ADNSW staff took part in the STARTTS accidental counsellor training. STARTTS is the NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors.

An accidental counsellor is someone who is not working as a professional counsellor, and who needs to safely and effectively support people ‘on the spot’ who are experiencing distress or a crisis. We often receive calls from people who are traumatised from the discrimination or harassment they have experienced.

We look forward to better supporting our clients as a result of this training!
