ADNSW Executive Manager Mia Zahra has been nominated for the NSW Human Rights Medal – a prestigious medal which recognises individuals who have made a lasting and meaningful contribution to advancing human rights in NSW.
Mia has contributed to the NSW community for more than 20 years through multicultural policy development and service delivery. She began her career in community organisations, before working in NSW Government assisting vulnerable communities and later at Legal Aid NSW before joining Anti-Discrimination NSW.
The NSW Human Rights Medal was one of 13 medals presented at the 2023 Premier's Harmony Dinner on Thursday 23 February.
The Premier's Multicultural Community Medals and Honour Roll pay tribute to the many outstanding people who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to promote social cohesion and harmony across our state.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as the First Nations Peoples of NSW and pay our respects to Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the ongoing connection Aboriginal people have to this land and recognise Aboriginal people as the original custodians of this land.
