We saw the number of complaints by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people more than double from the previous year, suggesting that our work to raise awareness about discrimination, its impacts and the services we offer is resonating with these communities.
President of ADNSW Helen McKenzie reflected on another busy year for the organisation.
“This year we focused our energies and limited resources on priority areas such as effectively managing the enquiries and complaints we receive, educating and engaging with the community and advocating for positive change.
“I am proud that we were also able to continue to connect and work with a wide range of individuals, communities and agencies, to better understand experiences of discrimination, which is vital in helping ADNSW to provide support and services where they are most needed,” Ms McKenzie said.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as the First Nations Peoples of NSW and pay our respects to Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the ongoing connection Aboriginal people have to this land and recognise Aboriginal people as the original custodians of this land.
