ADNSW meets with the Taiwan Tongzhi Hotline Association

Published 29 March 2023

ADNSW recently met with the Taiwan Tongzhi Hotline Association (Hotline) while their staff were visiting Australia for the Sydney WorldPride Human Rights Conference.

Hotline was founded in 1998 and is now the oldest and largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ+) organization in Taiwan. Hotline is dedicated to achieving equality and providing resources for the LGBTQ+ community through creating public dialogue and gender inclusive sexuality education.

Taiwan does not have anti-discrimination laws, and Hotline was keen to learn from ADNSW about anti-discrimination laws in NSW and seek advice about the introduction of anti-discrimination law in Taiwan.

It was great to catch up with Hotline and hear about how they are trying to influence change in their part of the world.
