Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I work at ADNSW as the Administration Support Officer. I have been an administrative professional for over 30 years and have worked as an Executive Assistant, a Personal Assistant and an Office Manager providing high-level executive support and administrative assistance to management teams and clients.

Why did you join ADNSW?

I joined ADNSW because I have always been interested in social justice and making sure everyone gets a fair go. I also figured that after working in sales and marketing in the private sector for 17 years it was time to use my powers for good.

Can you describe your role?

My role is hard to describe because the work I do is very diverse. When people ask me outside of work, I jokingly say 'I am a Professional Chaos Coordinator'. Essentially, I provide comprehensive administrative support to the Executive Manager and President as well as other staff. My job is to manage whatever the day throws at me.

I once heard that to be an admin person you need a servant’s heart and be able to anticipate needs – that pretty much sums up what it is like.

What do you like most about your job?

I like to help others and my job is all about supporting others to achieve their goals; I see their success as my success. I enjoy the variety of work that I do and being able to apply all my skills to meet the challenges I encounter. I also like that I am part of a team of superheroes fighting against injustice in the world. After all, who is Iron Man without Pepper Potts?

What keeps you busy outside of work?

Outside of work I like to spend time bushwalking and enjoying nature, and I also like being creative. I am a bit of a dabbler and will try my hand at any art or craft that I come across. I also love to cook and enjoy spoiling my family.
