ADNSW co-designed a workshop on 18 August with eight Disability Employee Network (DEN) leaders and two Inclusion and Diversity managers across the NSW public sector.
We looked at how reasonable adjustments work or don’t work in workplaces across the NSW public sector. Specifically, we brainstormed potential solutions for workplace adjustments during different stages of employment such as talent acquisition, interview, and talent retention.
The workshop is part of a larger ADNSW pilot project that aims to increase awareness of employee and employer rights and responsibilities related to reasonable adjustments within NSW public sector employment.
ADNSW developed the project following a community consultation last year on barriers experienced by people with disability in employment as well as on solutions for addressing such barriers.
The next stage of the project will focus on identifying activities, partnership, and delivery.
