Vaccine passports

Published 31 August 2021

State and federal governments have recently announced proposals about vaccine passports that are not yet in force. This is a highly complex and evolving area and the legal positions are not clear. If you have concerns, please contact your local member of parliament or relevant minister.

ADNSW does not make these laws and it is unclear how any of these new and emerging issues would be decided by a Court or Tribunal.

There are exceptions in the Anti-Discrimination Act for compliance with other laws and for reasonable measures to protect public health.

ADNSW is receiving a large volume of enquiries. We apologise if there is a delay in our response.

ADNSW can only assist if you believe you have actually experienced discrimination on one of the grounds and areas covered by the Anti-Discrimination Act. We can’t give advice about whether your complaint is best dealt with by NSW or Commonwealth legislation.

Please check our website for more information about our services and whether your situation might be covered.
