Club member vilifies same-sex couple at a function

Rania* and her lesbian partner attended a function at their registered club.

When being seated at their reserved seats, a dispute broke out with the couple beside them. The man at their table yelled out ‘Why should I have to sit with those f-ing lezzos.’

When the man was being ejected from the club, he threw the remainder of his beer at Rania.

Rania lodged a complaint of homosexual vilification with ADNSW.

At conciliation, the man denied that he had used the words ‘f-ing lezzo’. He admitted to calling Rania a lesbian in retaliation for her abusing his partner during the dispute about the seats.

The matter was resolved when both parties expressed regret about the incident.
