Women pool players "a joke"

Maria* is a club member who was refused access to her club's pool and snooker table.

The staff informed Maria that the area was restricted for men only and 'women playing pool is a joke'. Maria lodged a complaint with ADNSW.

At conciliation, the complaint was settled when the club apologised to Maria. The club also undertook to educate their staff and place notices around the club stating that all facilities and amenities are equally available to all members.
