As part of the project, staff from five partner organisations received training on ADNSW’s role and the complaints process, enabling them to support their clients with lodging discrimination complaints and supporting them through the process.

The partner organisations include:

  • Baabayn Aboriginal Corporation
  • Birribee Housing NSW
  • Indigenous Disability Advocacy Service
  • Merrimans-Wallaga Lake Local Aboriginal Land Council
  • Neami National.

Together, these organisations extend support across more than 30 locations throughout NSW, including regional communities.

Mia Zahra, acting Director of ADNSW, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the project partners.

“This initiative would not be possible without the goodwill and commitment of our partner organisations,” Ms Zahra said:

“By working together, we’re improving access to ADNSW’s free and confidential services, ensuring more people can get the help they need when facing discrimination.”

Narelle Hennessy, ADNSW’s Aboriginal Community Engagement Officer, added:

“Working hand in hand, there is so much we can achieve.”

ADNSW looks forward to welcoming more partner organisations on board as the project continues to grow.
