Ejected from a club for being lesbians

June 2014

Rochelle* and Trixie* are two women in a relationship.

They attended a club and danced together on the dance floor. After Rochelle lifted Trixie during a dance, they claim they were assaulted, exposed to homosexual discrimination and ejected from the premises by security staff.

Rochelle and Trixie lodged a complaint of homosexual discrimination with ADNSW.

At conciliation, the security staff denied any discrimination and only ejected the women when the women became argumentative.

The matter was resolved when both parties agreed to a statement of mutual regret about the incident.
