ADNSW out and about

Published 29 February 2024

Raising awareness, answering enquiries and spreading the word about available resources and services is an important part of our work. This month we had several opportunities to meet with diverse communities across NSW.

We joined the Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW and a range of other agencies on Wiradjuri country from 6 to 8 February for Bring Your Bills Days in Dubbo, Wellington, Trangie and Narromine.

We were also out and about at some university and TAFE welcome week events and the 2024 Rhodes Lunar New Year Dragon Carnival.

We also actively contribute to public policy and discussion about discrimination issues. This month ADNSW President Helen McKenzie took part in the LGBTIQA+ Safety Summit hosted by the Lord Mayor of Sydney on 9 February. Helen was also a panellist at the WALU Western Sydney Anti-Racism Week Leadership Forum on 22 February, focusing on creating inclusive, cohesive and anti-racist organisations.
